DAVID GINZTON
David Ginzton was born in Palo Alto, California
on February 23, 1948. He developed his love for art in elementary and
junior high school. In 1957 and 1958 he lived in Switzerland and traveled
Europe extensively. It was in those years that he developed his love for
sculpture. He was affected and later influenced by such masters as
Michelangelo, Maillol, and Rodin.
As he attended various
colleges and universities he always pursued his interest in art. At UC
Davis he took his first metal casting and at Stanford he had his first human
figure sculpture class.
David has worked full time
as an artist since 1986. He is mostly a self-taught artist, learning
autonomy and perfecting the “Tools of his trade.”
In his sculptures one can
see his firm belief in the family unit. He has done numerous Mother/Child; Father/Child; and children works. His work is positive and uplifting,
supportive and compassionate to the contemporary family. His (Mother and
Child) sculpture shows the strong emotional bonds between parents and their
children.
